This Corvette $$ a pristine, meticulously crafted instrument that represents over 30 years of tweaking, dialing in and perfecting. This is one of those instruments that wins you over before you even get a note out. The balance of the body, the smoothness of the neck, the masterful craftsmanship in the frets - you know you're holding something special before any music happens. The sound of this bass is enormous. It has a punchy low end that cuts right through the mix, beefy but clean mids and an articulate top end. It sounds great going through a wall of speakers, it sounds great in the studio, and it sounds great in the practice room. The neck is extremely comfortable and will immediately befriend your playing hand. Exhaustive tonal controls, extremely high-quality hardware and a nice simple finish top off the package. This is easily a last-bass-you-need-to-buy kind of instrument.
Special Features
This Warwick Corvette $$ 4-string sports a swamp ash body with a high polish burgundy red stain. It's a very simple but beautiful finish that doesn't get marked up easily and showcases the cool figuring in the wood. The neck and fretboard are made from wenge. Electronically, this bass is really decked out. It sports two passive MEC MM-style pickups wired to an active 2-band MEC preamp. In addition to the volume, balance, treble and bass knobs, there are two mini toggles for series/parallel/single coil control in each pickup. The case that comes with this instrument isn't so much a case as it is a bomb shelter for your bass. It has to be one of the most durable and protective cases you can get for any instrument.
