If you're looking for something that will be reminiscent of that Strat you had back in the day but want it to play and sound like it was put together with some of today's finest guitar builders and you're looking for something that can handle higher gain sounds a little bit better... The HSS Suhr pickup configuration in this Standard provides a slightly more aggressive overall tone compared to the Classic S guitars and a streamlined control layout with just one master volume and one master tone knob. The humbucker pickup can't be split, but don't let that fool you into thinking this detracts from the guitar in any way. Really it just helps keep the controls super simple while giving you exactly the tones that you need without any of the ones that you don't. If you need to have a single-coil sound coming out of the bridge, then a Suhr Classic S is going to be more appropriate. But if you are getting an HSS guitar like this and you don't need to be able to split that humbucker, then this is probably as good as it gets without being confusing or providing you with extra knobs and switches that are going to get in the way. The radius on the fretboard is also a bit flatter on the Standard as opposed to the Classic and the Even C Slim neck is going to be thinner as well.

Access to every fret on the neck is super easy, so you can shred away all night long without any hand fatigue, whether you're playing chords or ripping creamy lead lines. The craftsmanship that went into this guitar is simply impeccable. The fretwork is phenomenal and the action is extremely low while still allowing every string to ring out clearly (and with massive amounts of sustain), plus with the stainless steel heavy frets you basically won't ever have to worry about them wearing out.
