The Charon is a germanium/silicon hybrid fuzz inspired by the organic immediacy and primal simplicity of early guitar effects. The wide range gain control covers a variety of signal destroying needs. At low gain levels the Charon reacts like an overdrive with satisfying crunch and attack. Its smoky harmonics flicker and hover around your tone almost without touching it directly. Turning up brings in more compression and bloom as your tone becomes fatter and more distorted. The intense midrange character begins to take form as it thrashes around, only getting dragged across the fretboard by the command of your fingers. Full tilt is an outrageously textural, aggressive wall of sound that swaggers and crackles menacingly. The harder you dig in, the more bombastic and unhinged it becomes. The Charon’s tone control allows the user to reign in the low-end by rolling off bass as it is turned up to maintain focus and bite at high gain settings. The simple three control recipe of the Charon has everything you need to experience an inspiring sonic adventure with the timeless tone and golden-age design that Spaceman is known for.

Built and hand-wired in Portland, Oregon, the Charon features true-bypass relay switching with a soft-touch footswitch. On top of the cast-aluminum enclosure sits a durable, engraved vinyl faceplate and jewel indicator light. This pedal is built to last a lifetime, both on Earth and in the vacuum of space.
