Skervesen Raptor 6 Guitar, Black Burst

Music Store Live is very proud to offer up this Skervesen Raptor guitar with a beautifully wild poplar burl top in a brooding trans black burst finish. This one's also very cool because the body is made out of black limba which is a bit of a holy grail of tonewoods but not used all that often anymore because it's difficult to work with for most luthiers. Think along the lines of a more refined and improved mahogany tone, essentially.

This Skervesen Raptor is very appropriately named. The guitar is aggressive and super fast to play. Blazing lead licks up and down the fretboard are a real breeze while complicated chord shapes are still easy to get every note to ring out perfectly. Let's not kid ourselves here, this is a shredder's axe through and through! Sure, it can handle a variety of playing styles, but it's begging to hit the front end of your amp hard and scorch the big stage.

There's enough mid-range in the Bare Knuckle pickups to keep your tone punchy and defined, even when heavily saturated with distortion. The beautiful black limba body provides a very tight and punchy mid-range, ensuring that you'll never be bogged down with a muddy tone. The neck is slim, thin, and lightning fast. The fretwork is immaculate and allows for extreme bends without fretting out, two-handed tapping without exhausting your fingers, lightning-fast shredding up and down the neck, and chugging rhythms. The heel is contoured for easy access to those upper frets so you can really get as high up on the neck as you need to.

A simple control layout and gorgeous aesthetics round out this incredible sounding guitar. Whether you're lighting it up on the big stage or just jamming with friends, this guitar will impress both visually and with its killer tone. Bare Knuckle Pickups: The Nailbomb

The Nailbomb humbucker is the perfect synergy of old-school and modern rock tones in a high output humbucker.

From hot, fat blues rock through to aggressive thrash, the Nailbomb explodes with a strong and commanding voice. Contemporary players will take advantage of the full bore reaction of the pickup on full tilt; older school players will enjoy the range of classic tones and response using the volume pot to clean up.

The default Alnico V magnet offers up a huge, deep bottom end with rich, throaty mid range and warm highs. The Nailbomb neck humbucker has a woody and bright character when used clean; add overdrive and the tone tightens up for a focused and precise attack.
