Player's Perspective

Music Store Live is very proud to offer up this Skervesen 7-string Raptor guitar with a beautifully figured poplar burl top and ziricote fretboard!

This Skervesen Raptor is very appropriately named. The guitar is aggressive and super fast to play. If you're not careful, it could just bite your head off... But if you can channel the power of a true beastmaster, then all it has to offer will be at your fingertips. Blazing lead licks up and down the fretboard are a real breeze while complicated chord shapes are still easy to get every note to ring out perfectly. Even if this is your first foray into the world of extended range guitars, you're likely to feel right at home on this bad boy.

Let's not kid ourselves here, this is a shredder's axe through and through! Sure, it can handle a variety of playing styles, but it's begging to hit the front end of your amp hard and scorch the big stage. The Bare Knuckle pickups in this one are searing hot and have a very tight response! They're tight and punchy, great for bass-y djent lines, for example. They're definitely very modern sounding and are designed with the modern-day heavy rocker in mind, for sure. As with most Bare Knuckle pickups, while they're intended for more aggressive playing styles, they're still very versatile and can clean up quite nicely in case you don't just want to be running the engine at redline the entire time.

A simple control layout and gorgeous aesthetics round out this incredible sounding guitar. Whether you're lighting it up on the big stage or just jamming with friends, this guitar will impress both visually and with its killer tone.

Manufacturer's Description

The Raptor is the most popular model in the Skervesen line - a  versatile instrument of classic design.

This guitar features an ash body with an eye poplar top, Jescar stainless frets, Bare Knuckle pickups, and a gorgeous ziricote fingerboard. A Hiscox case is included so you can keep your guitar protected from scratches and dings when you're not playing it. It's also covered by a 2-year warranty!

AFTERMATH HUMBUCKER
The Aftermath is perfect for the modern metal guitarist, with accelerated bass response for exceptionally fast tracking of high-speed staccato riffing. It has a crushing mid range and precise high-end articulation.

With a symmetrically hand-wound twin screw coil design, the Aftermath bridge is powered by 3 custom size ceramic magnets. The bottom-end responds quickly to pick attack and tracks fast riffing extremely accurately, mids are focused and intense for ultimate punch no matter how dense the mix or how low the tuning, and highs are precise and articulate. With a more compressed dynamic, single notes have masses of sustain while the front of the note is clear-cut and defined even under extreme amounts of gain.

The Aftermath neck humbucker is Alnico V powered and voiced for fat, powerful clean tones, fluid vocal-like sustain when driven hard and good balance with the bridge humbucker.
