New for 2023, this model takes a bit of a different route than their VS Lionel short-scale, going for more of a minimalist postmodern vibe with a single "power" humbucker in the middle position - almost reminding us of a certain Central California-based builder's renowned basses - along with a warm and resonant mahogany body, unique pickguard design, simple electronics, and an ultra-stable neck.

Effortless to play, this bass's power humbucker really rocks hard to match. It definitely serves up a bolder bass tone that sits phenomenally in the mix and is suitable for a wide variety of genres. Adding that onto the familiar master volume, master tone platform provides a very straightforward configuration for players familiar with vintage-style instruments whilst optimizing playability and tone with modern engineering. The slim neck profile feels great and is one of the faster-playing bass neck profiles we've played.
