As a premier PRS Signature dealer, we are simply honored to offer up another unique and beautiful creation from our friends over at the Paul Reed Smith Private Stock department. There's never any question as to the quality of the instrument you're getting when you get any PRS guitar. But there's something magical with these Private Stocks and, at the end of the day, they're unique and simply unlike any other PRS guitar out there. For this one, we started with a Modern Eagle V in an absolutely stunning Raspberry Dragon's Breath. Spec-wise, this one's a bit of a combination of a couple of past Modern Eagle V builds we've done, with a little extra sauce to the aesthetic appointments.

The back of this guitar is truly a unique sight. The black / silver leaf pattern looks incredibly distinct and eye-catching against the raspberry red. Spin that bad boy around and you'll see the gorgeous, hand-selected bookmatched curly maple top, and a beautiful slab of Brazilian rosewood for the fretboard and the veneer on the headstock. We figured that getting the unmistakable warmth from Brazilian rosewood as well as the upper mid-range presence that it provides would round out the tone of the guitar really nicely. And, if all that wasn't enough, check out the stunning combination of the curly maple bird inlays and tuner buttons - simply phenomenal.

The extravagant yet tastefully beautiful appearance pairs very nicely with the versatile and modern-sounding electronics here. The two humbuckers are, by Paul's own words and our own ears, very similar to a really great sounding P90 but without the noise. The middle single-coil allows for some awesome tones in combination with the humbuckers. The humbuckers can be coil-split and there's a mini-toggle that even changes the capacitance of the potentiometers (this basically makes your tone brighter and can be great for playing with distortion and high gain settings). So in combination with the 5-way pickup selector, the three pickups give you pretty much any sound you could need or want.

The Modern Eagle V offers highly musical tones for both recording and playing live. A mix of classic and modern, the Modern Eagle V is built on a tried-and-true foundation of a maple top and mahogany back, a 22 fret, 25” scale length, Pattern mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard, bone nut, PRS Phase III Tuners, and the PRS patented Gen III tremolo. Its innovative pickup and electronics configuration puts a wide range of tones at your fingertips.

Utilizing a hum/single/hum (five-coil) pickup layout and unique electronics configuration, the Modern Eagle V gives players a vast array of tones in one guitar. The 5-way blade switch selects the pickups in intuitive groupings: treble, treble and middle, middle, middle and bass, and bass. There is a single volume and a push/pull tone control that activates both humbuckers when engaged; this allows players to access all three pickups simultaneously. Finally, the dual EQ mini-toggle switches act as tuned high-pass filters when engaged (in the up position), removing shelved low-end and allowing the high frequencies through for more clarity and musical highs.
