Player's Perspective

Check out the flame maple top on this one! This one is sure to turn heads as you whip it out at a gig, studio, or jam session. Blue Matteo is a finish color that is now only available on Artist Package guitars, so we were thrilled when PRS let us build a CORE Custom 24 in that color.

The majority of Custom 24's, these days, are coming with 85/15 pickups, and for good reason. These are a faithful recreation of the pickups that put Paul Reed Smith on the map. They sound vintage enough to get the job done if that's what you need but can also more than handle their own in more modern settings as well. They handle saturation and distortion with grace and ease. The notes are always full and articulate.

The pattern thin neck keeps playability a breeze and flying up and down the neck is truly effortless. The neck is made even more perfect by the simply impeccable fretwork on this guitar. Previously undiscovered musical ideas will jump off of the fretboard with this guitar. There's a very real thing that can happen when you pick up a guitar that is just so inspiring that it makes you a better player. This is one of those special instruments!

The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar. This iconic instrument was the first model that Paul Reed Smith brought to the public at PRS Guitars’ first Winter NAMM show in 1985 and has been a top seller ever since. Played by internationally touring artists, gigging musicians, and aspiring players, the Custom 24 features PRS’s patented Gen III tremolo system and PRS 85/15 pickups with volume and tone controls and a 5-way blade switch. 85/15 pickups were personally designed by Paul Reed Smith to offer remarkable clarity and extended high and low end.

The Custom 24 is the original PRS. Since its introduction, it has offered a unique tonal option for serious players and defined PRS tone and playability.
