PLAYER'S PERSPECTIVE

Check out this awesome new addition to the PRS SE line - the Hollowbody Standard Piezo! This one offers the same great tone and features as the Hollowbody II Piezo with a more understated look at a lower price. This one comes in an incredibly unique Dog Hair Smokeburst finish, which is unlike anything we've ever seen, especially on an SE.

Among other PRS SE guitars, the Hollowbody is in a class of its own. It has the clarity and articulation that PRS guitars are known for, especially with the awesome-sounding 58/15 "S" pickups - which we think are at the very top of the best import pickups out there - but it also has the warmth and dynamic response of a traditional jazz box. 

Additionally, this guitar also features an incredible-sounding PRS piezo that can be blended with the humbuckers or played all on its own. The tones you can get with the piezo make it hard to believe this is an electric guitar. We love how versatile this guitar is - you can approximate the quintessential PRS tone and an acoustic guitar all in one.

MANUFACTURER'S DESCRIPTION

The SE Hollowbody Standard Piezo features an all-mahogany body with hollow construction for a warm, resonant tone. Boasting 58/15 LT “S” pickups and an LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system, the SE Hollowbody Standard Piezo provides musicians with the versatility of wielding both acoustic and electric tones in one instrument. Additional appointments include a 22-fret wide fat neck, bone nut, and PRS adjustable Piezo stoptail bridge.

The instrument is designed with two discrete volume controls (magnetics and piezo) and output jacks (magnetics and mix/piezo). Players can plug into the “Mix/Piezo” jack and use the individual volume controls to blend the 58/15 “S” pickups with the piezo’s acoustic tones. Alternatively, players can plug into the jacks separately, so the guitar can run magnetic pickups into an amp and run the piezo through an acoustic amp or DI into the soundboard. When using the magnetic output jack in isolation, the piezo battery is bypassed completely, acting as a failsafe (in this scenario, the magnetic pickups still work even if the piezo battery has run out of juice).
