The Peluso 22 47 is a large diaphragm condenser microphone styled after the legendary "Neumann U 47". German radio engineers in the 1970's needed to lower the noise floor of their trusted U 47 microphones to conform to broadcast standards of the day. To achieve this, the microphones were re-wired to employ the new glass 6072A tube. The Peluso 22 47 uses this glass triode tube achieve its high gain and low noise floor. The capsule, components and transformer are the same as those found in our steel tube 22 47 models. While many seek out the musical second harmonic content found in the steel tube mic, others prefer the cleaner and slightly quieter quality of the glass 6072A tube found in this 22 47 (short-body) model. Whichever 22 47 microphone you select you will find incredible detail coupled with the smooth warmth the '47 name is known for.
