The ÆGEAN 20 is our first amplifier to feature onboard reverb. We have received requests for years to build an amp with reverb, but we always had our reservations. Reverb circuits are inherently noisy, tone sucking, and impact the lows and highs in an amp. Since its introduction into guitar amplification, no one thought to address these issues, but we did. We began by designing the amp around the reverb tank, believing that reverb in an amp is just as crucial to the tone as any other component of the amplifier. We changed the way the reverb tank connects to the amplifier, in turn greatly improving noise performance and lowering idle noise. We changed the way that the reverb is switched on and off with a new method that doesn’t run your audio signal 20 feet outside of your amp and back. By implementing a handful of major design changes, we’ve opened up a world of increased performance and depth previously unheard of in a reverb circuit. The ÆGEAN series of amplifiers offer reverb that can be set anywhere from a subtle reflection to full-on cavernous, effect-like waves. With the Reverb (Mix) and Dwell (Intensity) controls, you can carve out an incredible array of reverb effects unlike any other amp available. Reverb aside, these amps possess the strongest, most powerful clean tone we’ve ever created. Start opening up the Gain control and the amp begins to break up nicely. The ÆGEAN 20 has the most useable reverb and boldest tone of any amplifier available today.
