We're very proud to continue to be a top dealer of Mayones guitars and basses! The Patriot is one of the more recent additions to Mayones' bass offerings, and boy, does it absolutely rock. This is one truly stellar axe! Aside from the standard fare, this custom-ordered Patriot 5 comes in a gorgeous Trans Dirty-Brown Satine finish and features an upgraded 5A burl maple top, Aguilar DCB G4 pickups, a stunning 4A TEW (roasted) birdseye maple fingerboard, and a classy, understated "M" logo on the headstock.

The Patriot is an absolute bulldozer. The build quality is beyond superb and the action, right out of the box, was really low while still producing clear and buzz-free notes. As this is a 5-string, Mayones perfected the string break angle and tension to the point where the low B string won't feel floppy or clangy, even with the standard scale length!

From top to bottom this feels like a truly boutique and high-end instrument while being an absolute heavyweight in the tone department. It's supremely versatile, but of course shines best in the hands of anyone looking for an aggressive bass tone that is going to punch through the mix clearly and articulately.

The electronics package provides a huge array of useable tones with combination of the two pickups and the preamp. It also has its own distinct voice in passive mode, which allows you to get close to a Jaco-esque sort of tone. The Aguilar pickups almost have a single-coil characteristic to them, open and airy with a brightness that can cut through anything, along with the fullness and punch of a humbucker. These are great for slap/pop sounds or for pick playing. Fingerstyle, the tone is fierce, with lots of growl - like a polar bear that just stepped on a thumbtack.

An awesome entry in Mayones' already diverse lineup of basses, it's a great modern-sounding bass with a "take no prisoners" sort of tone to go along with its looks and feel!
