Martin's 15 series are some of our favorite acoustic instruments! It's easy to see why: These guitars have classic Martin tone, styling, and quality, but they're just different enough to make them really special. All 15 series guitars have solid mahogany tops. Martin introduced them during World War II when spruce was hard to come by, and it turns out mahogany thrives as a top wood. It has great projection and clarity, but it's a touch warmer and more consistent across the EQ spectrum than spruce.

The mahogany construction extends to the back, sides and even neck. The sound has great clarity, projection and warmth. The body is the comfortable, sleek 000 12-fret style. For some, the 000 body shape can be a lot more ergonomic than a dreadnought. There's a slightly less pronounced low-end than a dread, but more mid range focus and punch. 1 3/4" string spacing is right in that sweet spot that's wide enough for fingerpickers but slim enough for flatpickers and strummers.

Fingerpickers will certainly dig the natural balance between the lows and highs. Strummers will appreciate the way that simple open-position chords blend together. Recording is a breeze with these guitars as well - you won't get as many weird EQ spikes in certain places. The 000 12 fret body style is comfortable and sleek, the neck is comfortable and the mellow finish is easy on the eyes. This one's an easy buy!
