A truly outstanding acoustic/electric, the A-150 Savoy is a pleasure to see and hear, pairing a wonderfully free-playing late-1950s Guild orchestra model with the distinctive addition of an exceptionally voiced DeArmond Rhythm Chief 1000 floating pickup and a Blonde finish. The welcome return of a true Guild classic.

The DeArmond 1000 Rhythm Chief floating single coil pickup has been a staple feature of Guild archtops since the mid-1950s. Besides providing a natural, woody, acoustic tone, another innovative feature was the fingerboard mounting bar. This allowed installation of the pickup in the neck position of the guitar without having to alter the solid wood soundboard. It continues to be one of the most sought after archtop guitar pickups today.
