Player's Perspective

As proud G&L dealers, we're stoked to present you this awesome custom-ordered ASAT Classic from their Fullerton factory in a striking Jet Black finish! The ASAT is G&L's evolved take on the original T-style guitar designed by Leo Fender himself, and this is definitely a piece that carries on the legacy of the instrument.

Here at the shop, we love guitars that are modern and practical with "quality of life" improvements that cater to the player, but retain the vintage tone we all love. This model features a custom-ordered Quartersawn Maple neck, a sweet matching headstock, and G&L's standard Modern Classic neck profile, which plays fast and allows you move quickly up and down the neck while still harkening back to the general shape of vintage instruments. Next is the bridge - it combines the modern six-saddle design with improved intonation with the brass construction of the vintage-style T bridge for a true marriage of the best of both worlds. This guitar also feels way more comfortable to play than an average T with the pronounced belly cut for improved ergonomics, especially when you're sitting down.

G&L really killed it with these pickups. You can tell at first glance that the MFD single-coils are no ordinary T-style pickups - these bite just a little harder to handle more modern styles nicely while still retaining the vintage twang this type of guitar is known for. With the tone rolled back, they can also get very warm and creamy whilst retaining awesome clarity.

If you want to try a great T-style guitar alternative that has the pickup configuration and playing comfort worthy of a true workhorse, take this USA-made ASAT Classic out for a spin!

Item Specifics

The G&L ASAT Classic is Leo’s final word on the traditional single-cutaway bolt-on axe. Framed in a classic boxed-steel bridge, the single-coil Magnetic Field Design bridge pickup created by Leo Fender delivers crisp attack with complex harmonics while individual brass saddles offer modern levels of intonation refinement. Flip to the single-coil MFD neck pickup and you’ll discover a delectably rich tonal palette, from round clean jazz tones to thick, gritty blues. Put ‘em together and you’ll find a whole ‘nother level of heaven.

The ASAT Classic’s hard-rock maple neck features an easy-playing satin finish, comfortable 9 1/2″ radius and Jescar 57110 medium-jumbo nickel-silver frets for silky playability. The moment you open the luxurious hardshell case, you’ll be greeted with a stunning instrument and delicious aroma that’ll have your pulse racing.
