The guitar is everything you'd expect out of the Fender Custom Shop. Absolutely perfect construction and build quality from top to bottom. The compound radius fretboard is awesome! When you're down low it gives you a bit of a rounder feel, which is great for chord shapes. As you go up the neck, the fretboard flattens out for easier lead lines and string bends that never fret out. The guitar is definitely a heck of a lot more than just something pretty to look at. The tone is amazing that the feel is incredible. We really like how the burl maple top complements the birdseye maple neck. But the fun really starts once you plug this in. The hand-wound Custom Shop pickups definitely provide an enhanced and refined vintage tone that you simply can't achieve just by slapping any old vintage-voiced pickups in there. These really have that airy vocal-like quality that we love so much.

Visually and sonically captivating, the Artisan Maple Burl Strat strikes a chord with the senses—boasting a mix of exotic and roasted woods, vintage-style hardware and Fender Custom Shop master craftsmanship. A highly figured maple burl top meets a roasted alder ash body for a distinctive look and exceptional resonance, while Fat ‘60s pickups with Vintage Modified #2 wiring yield best-possible Strat tone. Naturally, a 9.5”–12” compound radius flat-lam ebony Macassar fingerboard offers superb playability.

The neck is roasted 3A birdseye maple with a “’63 C”-shaped profile for ultimate comfort, and the vintage-style synchronized tremolo offers rock-solid tuning stability.

More features include a reverse-wound, reverse-polarity Fat ‘60s middle pickup to reduce hum, 21 6105 frets, 5-way switch, vintage-style tuning machines, 1-ply Brown Shell pickguard, bone nut and wing string tree with metal spacer. Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and Certificate of Authenticity.
