You can experience how simply incredible this axe is before you even plug it in. Just like your favorite vintage 24.75" singlecut guitar, the neck and body resonate and sustain for days. The neck profile is very comfortable and just thick enough in all the right places, blending the best of vintage specification with ESP's contemporary design mentality. If you're a big bender, you're going to love the way this guitar plays. All kinds of legato can be pulled off with minimal effort and expressive vibrato is always at your fingertips.
This one's loaded with EMG's 89X active pickups, while obviously capable of dishing out the heavier tones, are designed to be incredibly versatile and can almost serve as two sets of pickups in one with the switchable voicing control. Both single-coil and humbucking tones are on tap, and they're phenomenal. These pickups really do straddle that happy medium between passive and active tonal signatures. There's really no genre that you wouldn't be able to tackle with this guitar.

Crafted at our ESP USA facility in Southern California, the USA Eclipse is the classic single-cutaway shape that’s been at the heart of many of music’s greatest moments. The USA Eclipse offers a full thickness (60mm / 2 3/8”), beautiful mahogany body. This guitar offers a smooth set-thru construction at a classic 24.75” scale, with a three-piece thin U-shaped mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard with 22 extra-jumbo Jescar stainless steel frets and mother-of-pearl split-flag inlays.
We chose the very best components available for the USA Eclipse, including Sperzel Trim-Lok tuners, TonePros locking TOM bridge and tailpiece, Schaller strap locks, and a bone nut. Pickups for this USA Eclipse include a set of modern sounding, but yet versatile EMG active pickups. The USA Eclipse includes a high-quality ESP USA form-fitting hardshell case.
FEATURES
Graphite Neck Reinforcement Bars
Get maximum strength and stability from your guitar’s neck, with higher long-term reliability. All ESP USA models are made with two high-strength bars of carbon fiber.
Weight Relief Chambering
The ESP USA Eclipse offers a traditional full-thickness body but is strategically chambered so the weight of the guitar remains comfortable and noticeably lighter than most classic single-cut body style guitars.
Full Thickness Carved Top w/ Natural Masked Binding
Over a half-inch of beautifully figured open-grain mahogany is carved to our ESP USA Eclipse contours, allowing for the natural masked binding to highlight the exquisite top.
EMG 89XR (and 89X)
The 89XR is similar to the 89 but the coils are reversed so that the single coil side is closer to the neck to capture the sweet spot Strat fans love. Featuring two pickups in one, the 89XR houses separate X series preamps and coils for a custom humbucker and single coil sound at your fingertips. Loaded with Alnico V magnets, the humbucker sound is rich, warm and powerful, but still clear and articulate, similar to the 85. The single-coil mode, accessed via the included push pull pot, delivers the traditional Strat single coil sound: bright, airy, and chimey, and is very similar to the EMG SA. In either mode, the clean sound is gorgeously pristine and has a lot of presence. Used equally in bridge and neck positions. Whether you are playing hard rock or jazz, you can get it all with this beautifully balanced and versatile pickup. The X series provide increased headroom, giving the guitar pickup an organic and open voice while still maintaining the clarity and response that EMG's are known for. X's are often described as bridging the gap between passive and active tone and feel. Along with our solderless installation, this is a great choice for guitar players looking to get more out of one pickup.
