Player's Perspective

It's a match made in hell - Slayer member, Exodus member, metal master and badass extraordinaire Gary Holt is one of the latest additions to the ESP family. His new signature models are souped up but straightforward instruments based on ESP's popular Eclipse design. This is the 200 model. The price is impossible to argue with, and it's impressively built and well voiced for a supposedly mid range guitar. The neck is fast but comfortable, and the hardware is all top notch. The sound is thick, heavy and unrelenting, perfect for just about any hue of metal or hard rock. This is a great first metal guitar, but it's also just an awesome instrument that's worth adding to the collection.

Special Features

This design of this axe is simple but effective. The body is basswood, and the bolt on maple neck sports a rosewood fretboard with 22 extra jumbo frets. At 24.75" scale length, the strings bend easily and vibratos come out smoothly. You can do pretty much whatever you want with the Floyd Rose Special bridge, and it'll snap right back to tune. ESP's LH-301 pickups are hot, heavy and searing, perfect for any amount of gain you can throw at them.
