Player's Perspective

Here's a classic-looking signature axe from ESP LTD that looks just as at home in the 1980s as it does in 2023 - this sick Mike Schleibaum MSV-1! 

Straight away, you can see that this guitar doesn't spend any time trying to wow you with complex wiring or controls, fancy woods or paint jobs, or other appointments. Armed with a single EMG humbucker, a Floyd Rose, one volume knob, a simple yet classic Olympic White finish, and an aggressive shape that can take heads off, Schleibaum spec'd out a no-nonsense metal machine. 

Despite being simple, this guitar still looks beautiful - the timeless white looks great against the ebony fretboard, and the binding on the neck along with the block inlays adds a certain "Custom" touch to things.

The James Hetfield EMG pickup stays aggressive and tight under any amount of gain, and we always find single pickup guitars to be surprisingly versatile - it puts more emphasis on your pick attack, playing dynamics and amp settings, which we always love.

If you want a straightforward axe for heavy styles that still manages to catch everyone's attention, the MSV-1 is definitely worth your time to check out!

Mike Schleibaum of DC-based melodic death metal band Darkest Hour has been a member of the ESP artist family for many years, and the LTD MSV-1 is his first Signature Series model. Based on the ESP Arrow shape, the outstanding MSV-1 offers neck-thru-body construction, a mahogany body with maple cap, 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets, block inlays, Grover tuners, a Floyd Rose 1000 bridge, and a single EMG JH (James Hetfield signature) active pickup. It comes in a beautiful Olympic White finish.
