These guys make some truly unique instruments that feel extremely boutique and high-end. The playability is immaculate and each one has a distinct voice to it based on the specifications we chose. No two Dunables are the same.

In the bridge position for this one we've got a Grizzly pickup which is sort of a fatter sounding PAF, in a sense. It's got a bit more oomph to it than a PAF, but it certainly has a foot in the door of that vintage tone camp. The Slugwolf in the neck is a bit of a more aggressive pickup that can get rich, fat, and meaty rock tones. The combination of the two lends itself to a wealth of versatility and musical tones, but to make it even better, each pickup has a coil-split switch and there's a phase shift switch for when you want to get really spanky and funky with it. There's really nothing you couldn't do on this guitar. You could literally find everything from jazz to heavy metal tones in this bad boy while covering everything in between. Definitely one of our favorite builds that we've done so far.

The neck is extraordinarily playable and the satin finish allows your hands to just fly up and down effortlessly. The amazing fretwork and overall construction of this allows for very low action without having to worry about fret buzzing. We also went with black limba for the body which sounds like mahogany, but a bit more refined and tight, while also looking way cool!

For the guitarist that wants to stand out from the crowd, these Dunables are truly professional quality, expertly hand-made, boutique instruments that will handle anything you throw at them.

Grizzly Pickups

A slight mismatch between the scatterwound coils makes for an airy, chimey top end, with a rounder midrange than the typical PAF-style pickup, and a tight bass response, courtesy of the Alnico IV magnet. Wound with polyurethane-coated 42AWG magnet wire, for a vintage voice with a modern clarity. 

The bridge position roars with enough cut for any mix, while the neck can deliver heavenly clean tones as well as violin-like sustain on overdriven solos. 

The Grizzly is the perfect pickup for any style of rock, with enough personality to be useful for anything from jazz to super-shred heavy metal.

Slugwolf Pickups

Essentially the same pickup as the Direwolf, but with two slug bobbins instead of a screw and a slug. I’ve found this dials back the shrillness on the attack, while still retaining lots of chunky clarity. Truly a fantastic pickup. Slightly compressed, clear, articulate, but full and with a gnarly midrange growl. A variation on our take on the classic aftermarket, “hot rodded” pickup, with a slightly dialed down output for just the right mix of clarity and power. Slightly mismatched coils scatterwound with 43AWG magnet wire and an Alnico V magnet make for a nice sparkle on top of juicy midrange and a chunky bottom end punch. Soaring leads, raunchy rhythms, and presence in any mix characterize this amazing pickup. Great for any style of metal, rock, or fusion, but versatile enough to be utilized in any style of music.

All our pickups come with 4 conductor (red/white/black/green/bare) leads for mod wiring like coil splitting, phase, etc.
