Player's Perspective

This axe is dressed to the nines and set to kill - this USA San Dimas HSS from Charvel is no joke! Featuring an HSS pickup configuration, a single volume knob, a Floyd Rose bridge, and a satin black finish, this guitar doesn't need any fancy adornments to get its point across. It's a lean, mean shredding machine dripping with tone.

At the heart of this beast are a trio of DiMarzio pickups - HS2s in the neck and middle and the iconic Super Distortion humbucker in the bridge. The HS2s combine the best qualities of a punchy humbucker with the vintage single-coil sound and are a perfect complement to the high-octane, blistering but still warm and vocal-like Super Distortion in the bridge. This guitar absolutely screams in every sense of the word. That being said, though, the controls may look simple but contain a surprising degree of versatility - the 5-way switch is wired in such a way where you get a bevy of all kinds of pickup combinations.

The quartersawn maple neck is super stable and feels amazing to play with the satin finish, just like the body. The 12"-16" compound radius gives you a smooth playing experience all the way up the neck and helps this guitar stay versatile by not feeling too flat in the lower frets, making chording still a comfy experience. And you already know what the Floyd Rose trem can do - it's a go-to on this style of axe for a reason.

Charvel's flagship USA Select Series taps straight into original-era Charvel DNA for sleek, ferocious models with "old-school throwback" specs our high-performance players have been clamoring for, such as '80s-style body perimeters, finely shaped neck profiles, fast compound radius fingerboards with rolled edges, non-recessed Floyd Rose bridges, and more.

Pure tone pours from a DiMarzio Super Distortion DP100F bridge pickup and DiMarzio HS2 DP116 neck and middle pickups, with five-way "super" blade pickup switching that delivers the bridge pickup only (position 1), bridge pickup inner coil and middle pickup (position 2), bridge pickup inner coil and neck pickup (position 3), neck and middle pickups (position 4) and neck pickup only (position 5).

Other premium features include a single control knob, side-mount "football" output jack, black hardware, Floyd Rose Original non-recessed bridge with 37mm block, and more.
