We're excited to bring you another stunning instrument from our friends at Anderson Guitarworks! This gorgeous Angel in a sleek Black Surf finish was custom-ordered and features a uniquely figured flame maple top, an HSH pickup configuration and a classic double-locking tremolo.
This hot-rodded beast will win you over in the looks department before you ever even plug it in. The flame maple top has stunning figuring with well-placed bookmatching, and the black accents of the back, headstock, and hardware of the guitar provide a very cohesive look from top to bottom that evokes vibes of 1980s instruments that ruled arena stages.
The playability is simply out of this world. Anderson's even taper neck feels incredible in any position. It's a smooth and gradual taper, as the name implies, and whether you're strumming big, fat chords down low or ripping leads up high, it's perfectly comfortable throughout. The Even Taper neck is thin but doesn't feel like a toothpick in your hands, and the carve on it is just divine with that magical heel joint that is nothing short of perfection. This guitar has a double-locking tremolo that stays in tune forever and allows for any sort of pitch-bending acrobatics you can throw at it.
Similar to some of the Superstrat guitars out of the 1980s, this one comes with a fully-loaded HSH pickup configuration - an HC1 in the neck, a humbucker with some nice sparkle and chime while retaining that warm rich midrange, a spicy SF2 single-coil middle that's hot enough to keep pace with the humbuckers, and an HC3 in the bridge, a vintage-hot powerhouse that pushes your amp into overdrive beautifully. These pickups allows you to rock hard like a guitar of this style is supposed to, while staying dynamic and musical enough to handle a wide variety of genres. The humbuckers look extra-cool as well, with the open-topped covers giving the guitar a very unique appearance.
This is another prime example of the meticulous attention to detail that goes into the building of each and every guitar that Mr. Tom Anderson puts his name on! It may sound cliche, but the pictures here really don't do this one justice.

- No Pickup Rings, Great Tone: The absence of pickup rings contributes to Angel's more modern, clean lines but (as with most everything here at Anderson) also serves a higher purpose of elevated performance. No pickup ring styling enables the neck pickup to nestle nearer the 24th harmonic for the richest “24” neck tone obtainable. Lush.
