Music Store Live is proud to present this Suhr Modern in a trans charcoal finish over a hand-picked flame maple top! We went over to John Suhr's factory in Lake Elsinore and combed through what seemed to be every single piece of wood they had in search of the best tops, backs, necks, and fretboards that we could find. For the player that wants infinite flexibility with their tremolo for worry-free divebombs all night long, we also went ahead and outfitted this one with a Floyd locking bridge and nut.

Tonally this guitar is going to sound as aggressive as it looks. It's got a set of Suhr's screaming hot Doug Aldrich pickups in there that will hit your pedals or the front end of your amp with the strength of Thor's hammer. There is no amount of saturation and high gain that this bad boy can't handle. The sound remains crisp, articulate, and definied even when in a dense mix. The scorching tone of the pickups, absolute shreddability of the neck and fretboard, and the locking nut and bridge on there really make it clear who we had in mind when designing this guitar.

Sonically, this is a hard rocker's guitar through and through. And we also wanted it to look the part. Check out the awesome red inlays on the fretboard and the red Suhr logo! This is a special touch that we haven't seen on many Suhrs at all and we really dig how this one came together. We also chose the reverse headstock for looks, but also for functionality. We aren't trying to say that it makes a huge difference, but we do feel that having the lower strings slightly extended to get to the tuners helps to give it a subtle hint of extra tension when youre drop-tuning. Don't get us wrong, this is primarily an aesthetic decision, but it does have a bit of an impact on the feel to it as well.

It certainly helps that we're able to go out to the Suhr factory and hand-pick all of the woods and appointments for these guitars. This ensures that you're getting the nicest figured woods but also specs and appointments that complement each other well for a finished product that will sound and feel as good as it looks.
