Music Store Live is proud to offer up this D-42 Custom from our friends at Martin Guitars! We hand-picked this particular one due to the beautiful figuring in the rosewood. Then when we got a chance to hold it and play it, we knew this is the kind of "forever" guitar that will make somebody as happy for a lifetime as it made us the first minute we saw it and got to hold it.

Their history and pedigree speak for itself. When a guitar comes from Martin's Custom Shop, then you know you've got something truly extra special in your hands. In addition to just being a jaw-droppingly perfect example of exactly what a dreadnought guitar should be, this is limited to 50 worldwide so it's a true collector's piece. This full-bodied dreadnought is extremely comfortable to play and the taper on the neck really makes it extremely comfortable for hours on end. The fretwork and overall construction is simply immaculate. The Carpathian spruce top, for those that may not be familiar, will be similar in tonality to other European spruce tops but it does seem to have a wider dynamic range and more headroom so you can really dig in with your strumming, for example, and the top will hang in there with you every step of the way.

Whether you're a Martin enthusiast, a collector of rare guitars, or just need one of the best acoustic guitars that money can buy, then this is going to tick those boxes for you. This is one of those acoustics that you can spend hours just staring at... It's that beautiful. But once it's in your hands, most importantly, you can spend hours and hours playing it, the smile will never leave your face, your fretting hand will never get tired from the neck, and you'll never want to put it down.

This limited edition custom 42-style Dreadnought features a Carpathian spruce top with aging toner. East Indian rosewood back and sides, and European flamed maple binding with multi-stripe border around the body, fingerboard, and headplate. It includes forward-shifted X-bracing, a high-performance neck taper for easy playability, nickel open-gear tuners, and an abalone rosette with multi-stripe border and abalone fingerboard inlay. This model is limited to 50 instruments worldwide.
