Joe Knaggs learned from the best, and then perfected his own way of doing things, to arrive at what you see today. After spending some time as one of the top luthiers at PRS, Joe Knaggs decided he wanted to be building his own guitars and implementing his own vision into his designs.
If you're looking for something with loads of wood grain and figuring, then this Kenai is about as good as it gets. The heavily figured swamp ash body is complemented by the intense T2 grade flame roasted maple neck and fretboard. For a look that's both unique and natural, this one absolutely takes the cake!
One of our favorite features with this guitar are the Seymour Duncan Candy pickups. These are custom wound pickups that were reverse engineered from a '60 burst LP and they've got to be one of the most accurate representations of a PAF that we've ever heard. They have all of that bright and shimmery top end that the PAF's are known for. It's almost like you're getting all of the benefits of a single-coil or P90 pickup but with the fatness (and silence) of a humbucker. The guitar really sings with a vocal-like quality that is simply beautiful.
Lots of people have created their take on this classic design... We don't know anybody that has nailed it better than Knaggs.
