Expectations are always high when you get a Fender Custom Shop guitar. As soon as you open the case you're already starry-eyed. The spalted maple top is absolutely gorgeous and every aesthetic detail of the guitar really combines to paint a beautiful picture. But that's just the beginning of the fun. We took this beauty out of the case to inspect it and it was hard to put back down. The neck is so incredibly comfortable and the sound is incendiary! That quintessential bright, spanky, airy Strat tone just jumps out of the hand-wound Ancho Poblano pickups. The bridge pickup is bright without being shrill ear-piercing. This has proven to be a hard characteristic to find in a lot of Strat bridge pickups that end up sounding like an ice pick is going through your eardrums. Not this beauty, though!

With a sound that'll make you stop dead in your tracks, looks that'll give you whiplash, and a feel that will make you never want to put this down, this is the perfect Strat for the Fender fan that doesn't want just any old guitar.

The Artisan Spalted Maple Strat is a uniquely splendid guitar with the signature playability and tone of the Fender Custom Shop. The Artisan Spalted Maple Strat sports a roasted alder body and spalted maple top that gives it a luxurious aesthetic and unforgettable sustain. Complemented with a 4A roasted flame maple neck with a Macassar ebony fingerboard, the result is a striking combination of tone wood that galvanizes creativity.

Additional highlights include a NOS lacquer finish, 9.5”-12” compound-radius fingerboard, 21 6105 frets, hand-wound Ancho Poblano pickups, 5-way switching, Vintage Modified #2 wiring, American Vintage synchronized tremolo bridge, vintage-style tuning machines with Fender logo, bone nut and wing string tree. Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and Certificate of Authenticity.
