Fender has revamped the pickups slightly to give them a more true single coil tone. You really get the full benefits of single coil tone without any of that annoying 60-cycle hum. The Fender American Elite series of basses gives you a very familiar Fender feel and sound but with a higher build quality. This isn't just a renamed American Deluxe Jazz bass.
