U2's bassist is getting another pair of Fender signature basses this year and boy are they attention-grabbing! For the rocker that isn't afraid of sporting some purple sparkle, this is the Jazz bass for you. The block inlays look super cool. The matching headstock and purple sparkle body are sure to be the talk of the town. And the pearloid pickguard and lollipop tuners make for some cool subtle touches.

But even the sparkliest of basses is going to be worthless if it doesn't sound good and doesn't play well, right? Rest assured, this bass plays like butter and has all of that 60's vintage Jazzy goodness that bass players are so familiar with. It's got that extra brightness and growl that you just can't get out of a Precision bass. So of course, the correct answer is to own one of each.

We've got to tip our caps to Mr. Clayton on this one as well as, of course, the team at Fender that made these a reality. This limited edition Jazz bass looks awesome, plays incredibly smoothly, and sounds killer. But there aren't many available and once they're sold out, there won't be any more to be had and you'll be left to wander where the streets have no name, in the city of blinding lights, fighting a bad case of vertigo, just hoping to regain some pride (in the name of love).
