Player's Perspective

As one of PRS's top independent dealers, we often have the privilege of heading out to their factory in Maryland to pick out all of the woods and specifications for a unique and exclusive run of guitars that can only be purchased through our shop!

From the minute you pull the luxurious black paisley artist package case out of the box, you'll be blown away by this guitar. As soon as you unsheath this axe from it's holster, you'll realize the fun has only just begun. An absolutely gorgeous quilt maple top is likely to be the first thing you'll notice on the guitar. Quilt maple tops are not available on standard CORE model PRS guitars and this custom blue fade color helps differentiate this from all of the other Custom 24's out there. The back/body is absolutely beautiful with a heavily figured swamp ash which we left in a natural color so it could truly be appreciated for the heavy figuring that it has.

Tonally, this is going to be a Custom 24 through and through, but with a touch more snappiness and brightness to it (which can always be easily tamed with the tone knob). The combination of the swamp ash body and the heavily figured artist package grade flame maple neck will help emphasize a bit more of the treble response of the guitar for some beautiful shimmery and glassy highs. The cocobolo fretboard maintains some great mid-range presence and helps the guitar remain evenly balanced across the frequency spectrum. Many consider it very similar to the sound of Brazilian rosewood.

Playability is simply off the charts and attention to detail, from top to bottom, is nothing short of immaculate. If you're looking for  PRS Custom 24 that's going to stand out from the rest of the bunch, this will absolutely hit the mark!

Special Features

The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar. This iconic instrument was the first model that Paul Reed Smith brought to the public at PRS Guitars’ first Winter NAMM show in 1985 and has been a top seller ever since. Played by internationally touring artists, gigging musicians, and aspiring players, the Custom 24 features PRS’s patented Gen III tremolo system and PRS 85/15 pickups with volume and tone controls and a 5-way blade switch. 85/15 pickups were personally designed by Paul Reed Smith to offer remarkable clarity and extended high and low end.

There are several appointments on this guitar which make this truly exclusive. The following are not available on standard CORE Custom 24 models:
Quilt Maple Top / Swamp Ash Body / Artist Grade Flame Maple Neck / Cocobolo Fretboard and Headstock Veneer / Old School Bird Inlays / Custom Blue Fade Color

The Custom 24 is the original PRS. Since its introduction, it has offered a unique tonal option for serious players and defined PRS tone and playability.
