Player's Perspective

Now here's one of the most beautiful RGs you'll ever see. Feast your eyes this Ibanez Prestige RG5120M in an incredible Polar Lights color-changing finish!

The Polar Lights finish is Ibanez's take on the iridescent paint that has increased in popularity in recent years, and dang, is it an excellent one - the amount of colors that can be seen looking at this RG is much higher than the "average" color-changing finish. Ibanez seemed to use a little secret sauce on this one, as the gradient seems a lot more complex with greater depth. We tried to capture this in the photos as best we could, but it's definitely something you have have to see in person to truly appreciate.

Pair this with the matching headstock, gorgeous mahogany back that contrasts wonderfully against the complexity of the top, and the figure birdseye maple fingerboard - the RG5120M is no doubt one of the most gorgeous Ibanez axes to have come through the shop.

This guitar is much more than just looks, though - it's a top-of-the-line Prestige RG through and through. Stainless steel frets, the venerable Lo-Pro Edge locking tremolo, and a pair of voicing-switchable Fishman Fluence Modern pickups, which stay clear and tight no matter how much gain you throw at them (and add to the spaceship-like aesthetic of the guitar) round out the feature set.

There are three principles behind the Ibanez Prestige line: Precision, Performance, and Playability. Prestige combines high-tech manufacturing techniques with old-world Japanese craftsmanship, in order to achieve true innovation in design and construction. The series incorporates ideas and suggestions from musicians from around the world as the cornerstones of the Prestige production process.

The Super Wizard 5pc Maple/Wenge neck provides extra-smooth playing. The Birdseye Maple fretboard has a unique wood grain and features a well-balanced tonal character from low to high end. The legendary Lo-Pro Edge bridge offers maximum playing comfort with its streamlined profile and recessed fine tuners. Locking studs contribute to tuning stability. The Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker pickups provide an aggressive tone and a powerful attack without excess noise. The Luminlay side dot position marks make it easy for players to see fretboard position marks when performing on dark stages. Gotoh® machine heads provide super precision, smooth feel, and minimal back lush.
