Just... Wow! Here's yet another truly remarkable offering from our friends over at Anderson Guitarworks. This gorgeous Drop Top HH was custom-ordered and features a uniquely figured quilt maple top that combines with the gradient Fire WakeSurf to evoke vivid imagery of a blazing volcano, appropriate for the tones that will be erupting from your amp. To start things off, this Drop Top features a “Shorty” 24.75" scale length for players wanting a slinkier feel and beefier lows out of a Superstrat.

This axe is loaded with tons of character and looks stunning both up close and from afar. The “chocolate” roasted maple neck feels divine, and the overall neck is made even better by the immaculate fretwork. The attention to detail on this guitar is classic "Tom Anderson" in the best of ways. Low action and butter-like playability is the name of the game with this Drop Top, for sure. Everything about it is just effortless.

For electronics, we went with a versatile but definitely rock-ready tonal palette. The H humbuckers are some of our favorites. The H1 and H3 are the perfect middle ground of output, featuring plenty of push while still remaining bright, clear and punchy. They can drive your amp very nicely for those harder-edged tones while shining clean as well. Whether you want them to be smooth and sweet or heavy and cutting, they can pull it off.

Anderson just never fails to impress us with their guitars. The crew over there make some of the best bolt-on guitars in the world and this one stands tall at the summit of that mountain!

Manufacturer's Description

Before the introduction of the magnificent Drop Top in 1990, the number of "S" style guitars that had a maple top that was “dropped” to create a comfortable forearm contour were exactly zero. As a result of this design, we've chosen a body top thickness of 3/16 of an inch, which actually enhances and enriches the sonic character of the instrument. The result is a guitar that not only plays effortlessly, is extremely comfortable, and sounds amazing but is so darn good looking that if you don't dress well it just may upstage you. Today, along with your choice of flame or quilted maple, walnut or koa top, Drop Top now offers four choices of body backing tone wood to bring the sonic character you desire from your "S" to bear on the bandstand.
